Russian, Egyptian officials discuss resuming air travel
MOSCOW, Mar 17 (PRIME) -- Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry have discussed implementation of agreements concerning possible resuming of air travel with Egypt, according to a statement on the government’s Web site released late Wednesday.
“The Russian side is awaiting information about Egypt fulfilling necessary measures to enhance safety and is ready to send its specialists to estimate this and is also preparing all necessary bilateral documents,” the statement said.
Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Wednesday that Russia will resume air flights to Egypt soon.
Moscow ceased flights to Egypt in November 2015 after a major Russian plane crash over the Sinai Peninsula. Russia believes that the plane was likely brought down by a bomb.
